Know Your Strengths
I remember my first personality assessment vividly—it was the Myers-Briggs, and I took it early in my career. (Can you guess my type?) The insights I gained were profound, sparking a journey of self-discovery that continues to this day.
Since then, I've delved into a myriad of assessments: the Emotional Intelligence Index, Kiersey-Bates, Enneagram, DiSC®, Sparketype, True Colors, StrengthsFinder, and the Leadership Practices Inventory, to name a few. Overall, I've found them to be so helpful that I've become certified to administer several.
Some skeptics dismiss assessments as mere generalizations, but for me and for the individuals and teams I serve, each assessment offers a unique lens through which we develop deeper understanding about different facets of ourselves, creating the opportunity to improve the way we interact with others.
Strengths assessments in particular reveal something truly special—they illuminate our natural talents and intrinsic wiring. Understanding these strengths isn't just about recognition; it's about empowerment.
Understanding our strengths provides a roadmap for leveraging our innate abilities to excel in our endeavors, both personally and professionally.
By identifying and nurturing our strengths, we can approach challenges with confidence, make decisions aligned with our authentic selves, and achieve greater fulfillment. It's a proactive journey of growth and self-improvement, where each insight gained becomes a catalyst for personal success.
The Six Types of Working Genius® takes this gift of self-discovery a step further, as it maps our natural talents—using a simple and intuitive system—to powerful stages of work.
