Episode 42:Â A Love Letter to Life: A Thanksgiving Reflection
November 24, 2025
Would you take 10 minutes each morning to transform how you experience your work and your life?
In this deeply personal episode, I share a simple practice that changed everything for me—a practice that builds genuine resilience, fills you with positive energy, and helps you lead with more clarity, hope, and joy. This isn't about toxic positivity. It's about training yourself to notice the beauty and goodness that already surrounds you, even when life feels chaotic.
Listen Now
Imagine starting each day by soaking in what's right and good in the world.
As we head into the holiday season, I want to share a practice that has become my lifeline. When I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and caught in a spiral of "too much to do," I made a decision: 10 minutes of peace for myself each morning. Just 10 minutes to notice the sky, feel the sun on my face, listen to the birds, and appreciate the simple beauty around me.
That practice became the foundation for everything that followed—more resilience, more creativity, more hope, and a natural flow of genuine appreciation for the people in my life. In this Thanksgiving episode, I'll show you how cultivating appreciation for small, beautiful moments primes you to see what's RIGHT in the world, and how that gratitude naturally extends to others. Because when you feel grounded in what's good, you lead better, connect deeper, and actually savor this one precious life.
"I refuse to let habits of negativity dim my hopefulness and overwhelm my joy. I refuse to become a grumpy old person who only sees what's wrong with the world."

About your Host
Claire Laughlin, MA, Organizational Development Consultant
Hi! I'm Claire Laughlin, and I love helping leaders like you create workplaces where people truly thrive.
For over two decades, I've been rolling up my sleeves alongside teams and organizations, using hands-on methods that actually work (because let's face it - theory only gets you so far!).Â
I specialize in teaching leaders how to engage their teams, helping managers become more effective facilitators, and showing people how to work better together.
I'm also a master facilitator for the Six Types of Working Genius® - a fantastic tool that helps you understand and leverage your natural talents.
When I'm not helping leaders like you build happy, high-energy workplaces, I'm enjoying a hike in the forest with my dog Fiona, spending time with my family or curled up with a great book.
Let's keep the party going!
